SÖCHTING DOSATOR
For an evenly dosed fertilization of your aquarium plants
Why is an even fertilization so important for your aquarium plants?
Aquarium plants also need nutrients; they are taken in through the surface of the leaves and the roots. Iron ions dissolved in water are indispensable particularly for the production of chlorophyll (green plantpigments), which is absolutely necessary for photosynthesis. However, in water rich in oxygen, as required by fish, they are thrown down quickly. For this reason, iron ions have to be constantly added to waters in which both fish and plants are to develop well.
In natural waters, this can occur through leakage water lacking in oxygen and containing dissolved iron. Aquaria, on the other hand, require constant refertilization. However, this is by no means enough: Since highly concentrated dissolved iron is injurous, it should be added in small doses as often as possible or, ideally, continously as in the case of leakage water.
This ideal case is achieved by the SÖCHTING DOSATOR, which automatically doses a solution containing iron ions continously and altogether evenly. Even a slight flow caused, for example, by the filter system, aerator or heater, distributes the fertilizer throughout the entire aquarium. Apart from iron and manganese ions, which are indispensable catalysts for the production of chlorophyll, the SÖCHTING-Special Fertilizer contains potassium and magnesium ions, which are important plant cell nutrients.
